Product Details

Duplex stainless steel features a dual-phase structure of α + γ, which combines the characteristics of both austenitic and ferritic stainless steels, making it a type of stainless steel known for its high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Typically, when the carbon content is low, the chromium content ranges from 18% to 28%, and the nickel content ranges from 3% to 10%. Some steels may also include alloying elements such as molybdenum, copper, niobium, titanium, and nitrogen.

Compared to ferritic stainless steel, it has higher plasticity and toughness, no room temperature brittleness, significantly improved intergranular corrosion resistance and welding performance, while also retaining the 475°C brittleness and high thermal conductivity of ferritic stainless steel, as well as superplasticity. Compared to austenitic stainless steel, the yield strength is significantly increased, and the performance in terms of intergranular corrosion, stress corrosion, corrosion fatigue, and abrasion is significantly improved.
